Perfect Chocolate Chip Cookies


Makes: 1 1/2 dozen


~1/2 cup (one stick) browned salted butter (feel free to use a plain stick of butter, the browning just adds an extra level of flavor)

~1/2 cup light brown sugar

~1/4 cup granulated sugar or turbino sugar (for an extra crunch)

~1 egg

~1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract

~1 tablespoon dry milk powder

~1 1/4 ( or 1 + 3/4 c if you use browned butter) cups AP flour

~1/2 teaspoon baking soda

~1/2 teaspoon salt

~1 cup mini chocolate chips


1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees, line baking sheets with parchment paper.

2. Brown your butter and let it cool back down to room temperature. One your butter is cooled, add it to your sugar and cream until light and fluffy, about 3-5 minutes. Add egg and vanilla.

3. Add milk powder, flour, baking soda and salt until just combined.

4. Fold in mini chocolate chips.

5. Scoop 2 tablespoon sized dough balls onto your cookie sheet. Leave 2-3 inches between cookies for spread space.

5. Bake for 8-9 minutes or until slightly golden brown. Let cool.
